3 Things We Learned From The Mayweather-McGregor Superfight

This past weekend, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor traded shots in boxing’s biggest fight since Mayweather-Pacquiao…

Aside from the fight succeeding as one heck of an entertaining event, here are 3 major takeaways from the big brawl that you can use to grow your business immediately…

1. Polarity sells

Both fighters have a reputation for being extremely arrogant…

In other words, they believe themselves to be the best and aren’t shy about letting you know it… over and over and over again…

But while either fighter isn’t gonna win any modesty award any time soon…

Their clash of arrogance definitely sold the crowd with preliminary revenues so far already tallying over $1B dollars…

Be good, bad, but never be in the middle…

2. Take risks, win big

Up until the fight, nobody gave Conor McGregor a fair shot (he was a massive underdog)…

Granted, he didn’t have much going for him…

  • He never had a boxing fight (his record was 0-0)…
  • He was fighting a hall of famer who had a perfect, 49-0 record…
  • He wasn’t allowed to knee, kick, or elbow (like he was used to in MMA)…

To taunt “The Best Ever” into a fight would sound like a death wish to the casual observer…

Sure, he didn’t win, but he shocked the world by demonstrating more-than-decent skills…

And his reward?

A fight purse that broke triple digit millions, the biggest purse of Conor McGregor’s career…

3. Save your best for last

Mayweather weathered the initial barrage from the fighting Irish and basically let Conor beat himself…

After exploding from the gates, Conor looked visibly worn down by the 5th round and Mayweather’s experience took over…

And while Mayweather could have ended the fight much sooner, the referee called the fight in the 10th round – a TKO for the winner, Floyd Mayweather…

In business, deliver the goods but don’t show your complete hand too early…

You just might run out of gas…

If you plan to win in the long haul, always surprise your customers with the unexpected and over-deliver on your initial promises…
